The BCCI hasn’t announced Shikhar Dhawan’s replacement yet.
In the match against Australia, while Dhawan was injured yet he scored 117 runs in 109 balls. After India’s inning, he didn’t the field. On his place, Ravindra Jadeja came to field.
Rishab or Raydu can get the chance.
In the last two matches, KL Rahul, who came in to bat in the middle order, was included as the third opener in the team. In the coming matches, he could get an opportunity of opening.
If Dhawan is out of the entire tournament, then one of the Rishabh Pant and Ambati Raidu can be included in the team.
The BCCI had included these two as standby players. India’s next match is from New Zealand 13th June.
After this, Indian will play against Pakistan on 16th June.
The selectors can consider Shreyas Iyer as well!
According to the sources, the management can call Mumbai’s batsman Shreyas Iyer as a part of the team.
They consider Shreyas as a specialist batsman on the number 4 position. They are still in England If Rahul openings, then Iyer No. 4 can be a better option.
