In West Bengal, there is an atmosphere of tension. In West Midnapore’s village Chak Kishor, unidentified miscreants shot a TMC activist Ganesh Bhuiyan. The family of Ganesh has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers called him at night and murdered him.
Locals protest on police’s arrival
On Monday morning 1st July, Ganesh Bhuiyan’s body was found lying near the farm in his village. Later, when the police came on the spot, the locals started protesting.
People demanded the arrest of the accused. The situation is out of control. And, thus they have deployed much police in the area to regain control over the situation.
TMC Visit Bhatpara
Earlier, the eight-member delegation of TMC visited Bhatpara on 28th June. It is West Bengal’s most violence-affected area. During the political conflict, police allegedly shot two people. The TMC delegation visited here a week after the incident.
State Minister for Food and Agriculture Jyotipriyo Malik, Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim, Fire Minister Sujit Bose, Science and Technology Minister Bratya Basu spoke to people. Also, party MLA Partha Bhowmik and Nirmal Ghosh spoke to the local people after reaching Bhatpara on Friday afternoon 28th June.
Firhad Hakim said, “The situation is not good for the people living here, there have been continuous bomb explosions in many areas. We are taking stock of the situation, we will talk to the police commissioner.”
While Science and Technology minister Bratya Basu said, “We want peace in the area, we will punish people for throwing bombs on innocent people. And, spreading unrest in the area.”
The BJP’s three-member delegation visited here a few days ago and also met the family of the deceased.
2 killed, 4 injured in Police open fire
A group of intellectuals also organized a rally in Kakinada-Bhatpara area on Thursday 27th June. And, they urged people to restore peace.
After the announcement of the results of the general election in Bhatpara and adjacent areas of Barrackpore parliamentary area, Kankinara, Jagatdal, Naihati, the atmosphere is hot.
At a recent incident on June 20, the police on open firing killed two people, and they injured at least four.
