Madhubala, born on February 14, ie Valentines, dedicated day for heart and love, yearned for love. The reason for her death also became her heart. However, the irony of her life lies in the love and relationships of Madhubala.
When Madhubala was 9 years old, she lip-synced to the song ‘Mere Chhoti Mana Mein Chhoti Duniya Re’ from the film ‘Basant’. From here she became the support of the house. After leaving the job of Madhubala’s father Ataullah Khan, she had to come to the film world to support the house. Ataullah Khan and his wife Ayesha Begum had 11 children. Madhubala was number 5.
Before coming to the film world, she was named Mumtaz Jahan Begum Dahalvi. She changed his name after appearing in films. Till her death, she was the only earning member in the family.
Madhubala’s sister Madhur Bhushan told many stories related to her life in an interview. She says that she first fell in love with Premnath. Their relationship lasted only 6 months. Religion ensued between their love. Premnath wanted to change her religion. However, she did not agree.
Madhubala was in love with Dilip Kumar. The affair of both of them lasted for 9 years. Both were also engaged but this relationship broke down due to Dileep’s small stubbornness.
A court case took place during the film ‘Naya Daur’. The film was to be shot in Gwalior and there was some ruckus. Madhubala’s father did not want her to go there. Madhubala’s father and Dilip Kumar got into an argument over this matter. This is where things got worse. Madhubala’s father gets angry and Dileep does not apologize for the affair. When Madhubala did not want to go against her father’s wishes, their relationship broke up.
After being away from Dileep, Madhubala was quite depressed. After this, Kishore Kumar came into her life. During a three-year affair, Madhubala married him. She suddenly became ill after marriage. At that time, she was 27 years old. Kishore took her to London for treatment.
Madhubala had a hole in her heart. When there was no one to take care of Madhubala, Kishore left her at his father’s house. He said that he would not be able to take care if he was busy shooting. Madhubala wanted to be with him there.
Kishore Kumar used to bear all the costs of treating Madhubala but he used to visit her very rarely. Madhubala felt lonely and she was suffocating.
Saira Banu had come into Dilip Kumar’s life. He had also reached the hospital to meet Madhubala before getting married. It is said that Madhubala cried a lot after the marriage of Dilip Kumar.
The doctors of London gave Madhubala only 2 years. However, she lived for 9 years. She had a desire to live. Her sister says that she wanted to live. She was waiting for the doctors to find a cure for her illness. Madhubala died on 23 February 1969. Reports state that Dilip Kumar also attended Madhubala’s funeral.
