On Friday, 12th July, the Ranchi High Court granted bail to RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam case relating to Deoghar treasury.
On behalf of Lalu Prasad Yadav, they filed a bail application. They based the bail petition on the fact that he had already finished half of his sentence.
On hearing this, the Ranchi High Court granted bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav on a ransom of 50 thousand rupees.
Along with this, the court has ordered Lalu Prasad Yadav to deposit his passport.
The court heard the case on the fodder scam case on July 5th. But it did not relieve Lalu Prasad Yadav from the Ranchi High Court.
Lalu Prasad Yadav had filed a petition for bail, on which the High Court had fixed July 12th for the next hearing. They lodge Lalu Prasad Yadav in a jail in Ranchi in connection with the case of fodder scam.

RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav Convicted
On May 29th this year, a special court of Ranchi convicted 16 accused in the fodder scam case of crores rupees and sentenced them to three to four years.
S.N. Mishra’s special CBI court blamed 16 people for falsifying the Chaibasa treasury and taking Rs 37 crore by cheating. The court sentenced 11 people to three years and five others for four years.
The special CBI court had convicted former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Jagannath Mishra in 2013 in this case. The CBI later filed a charge sheet against 16 others. Out of these 14 supplied fodder and two government officials. The CBI court has ruled in 42 cases related to the fodder scam.
