In the invitation letter issued for the inauguration of the metro, the name of Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal written as the inaugurator. BJP MP Babul Supriyo has been named in the Guest of Honor. Surprisingly, Sujit Bose, Minister of Fire and Emergency Services (Independent Charge) of the Mamta Cabinet and Trinamool MP from Barasat Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar have been named under the dignified presence. Both these leaders have decided not to participate in the program.

A senior MP and a legislator of the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal have decided to boycott the program in protest against not inviting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the inauguration ceremony of the East-West Metro corridor. Sources gave this information.
He informed that senior MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and MLA Sujit Bose have decided not to participate in the program. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal will inaugurate the first phase of East-West Metro Corridor connecting Sector Five to Salt Lake Stadium.

Dastidar told that when Mamta Banerjee was the railway minister in 2009-2011, the East-West Metro Corridor was her original idea. He was the one who allotted money for this in the railway budget. And now when the project going to inaugurated, they not invited. This is an insult to the people of Bengal. According to party sources, Bose and Bidhanagar Municipal Corporation President Krish Chakraborty will not participate in the program.
