Lok Janshakti Party has released the first list of candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections. In the first list, the names of candidates have been announced on 15 seats. The 70 assembly seats in Delhi are to be voted on 8 February. LJP is an ally of NDA. In Bihar, the party is in government with JDU and BJP and LJP’s Ram Vilas Paswan is the Union Minister at the Center. In the Delhi elections, the LJP has decided to fight the BJP separately.
Among the 15 seats on which Lok Janshakti Party has announced the candidate’s name, Rajiv Kumar Sharma from Sadar Bazar assembly seat. Anil Kumar Gupta from Mustafabad, Mahesh Dubey from Motinagar, Amresh Kumar from Narela, Sunil Tanwar from Deoli. They have given a ticket from Madipur to Poonam Rana.
LJP gave Ajit Kumar to Kirani, Kamaldev Rai to Trinagar, Shivendra Mishra to Shalimar Bagh, Shankar Mishra to Wazirpur. Sumitra Paswan to Matiala Mahal Arvind Kumar Jha to Sangam Vihar. Ram Kumar Lamba to Najafgarh, Ratan Kumar Sharma to Uttamnagar. Namah from Laxminagar assembly seat.
The process of filing nomination papers for Delhi Assembly elections has started on Tuesday (January 14).
AAP, Congress, and BJP have not announced the names of the candidates. All the 70 seats in Delhi will go to polls in a phase on February 8. The results will come on 11 February. The last date for filing nominations is 21 January.
The Aam Aadmi Party formed the government by winning 67 seats. Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister in the 2015 elections to 70 assembly seats in Delhi. BJP had won 3 seats in this election. Congress could not get a single seat. In 2015, AAP garnered a 54.3 percent vote share. The BJP came second with 32.3 percent of the vote. The vote share of the Congress was 9.7 percent. The main contest is being considered between Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress. Apart from these, many other parties like LJP, JDU are also in the fray.
