Former Indian captains Kapil Dev and Mohammad Azharuddin have demanded from the BCCI to take stern action against the Indian team who treated the Bangladeshi players in the final of the Under-19 World Cup.
Kapil Dev told the English newspaper, “I would like to see the BCCI take tough measures against the players. Anti-cricket is not a game of abusing players. I think there is a reason for the board to take strict action against these players. I welcome passion and aggression in sports. There is nothing wrong with this. But it must be controlled. You cannot exceed decorum. Such behavior of players on the field cannot be accepted under any circumstances. ”
Azharuddin asked- what was the support staff doing?
Former captain Mohammad Azharuddin has also denied the controversy. He said, “I would have definitely taken action against the players of the under-19 team who showed bad behavior on the field. But I want to know what steps the support staff is taking to make such young players aware. Strict steps need to be taken before it is too late. Players should be disciplined in any case. ”
Can’t pretend to be rude on the field: Bishan Singh Bedi
Earlier, former Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi also said, “You can bowl poorly, batting and fielding. But there is no excuse for bad behavior on the field. The behavior of the Indian team in the final against Bangladesh was embarrassing. Age of innocence was not seen on the faces of the players. ”
