The Central Government’s decision to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir was heard in the Supreme Court on Friday.

Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi rebuked the petitioner and said that I read the petition for half an hour. Still did not understand what you want to say. What kind of petition is this? It is not even worth mentioning.

Advocate Manohar Lal Sharma had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on the very next day of the government’s decision to remove Article 370 and demanded an immediate hearing on the matter. However, the court denied this.

They will also hear another petition on Kashmir

The special bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde and Justice SA Nazir will also hear the petition filed by petitioner ML Sharma along with Anuradha Bhasin, Executive Editor, Kashmir Times. Bhasin has appealed for the restoration of all modes of communication, including mobile internet and landline service in Kashmir so that the media can properly function in the state.

Supreme Court has postponed the decision on the ban in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, the Supreme Court on Tuesday heard the petition of Congress leader Tehseen Poonawala. Poonawala had also demanded the removal of curfew from Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this it also demanded restoration of phone-internet services.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court asked the government how long the restrictions will continue in the state? The government said that the situation there is very sensitive and sanctions are in everyone’s interest. The Supreme Court refused to immediately pass any order on lifting the ban in Jammu and Kashmir.

The government told the court that we are reviewing the situation in the state every day. Not a single drop of blood fell there, no one died. After this, the Supreme Court postponed the hearing for two weeks saying that we see what happens there. The Center told the Supreme Court – In 2016; it took 3 months for a similar situation to become normal. The government is trying to control the situation as soon as possible.
