Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh said in Lucknow on Tuesday that the demolition of Babri Masjid was not part of any conspiracy, but a result of suppressing the sentiments of crores of Hindus for centuries. Kalyan Singh was the chief minister when they demolished Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on December 1992. Allahabad High Court Special Judge Surendra Kumar Yadav had asked the CBI to file a report in Kalyan Singh’s case. On this, the CBI filed an application, which will be heard today.
Kalyan told the news agency, “Until now I was the Governor of Rajasthan and they could not summon me. But now I will be questioned. For this, I will appear in court. I will answer all the questions over there. ”
Honor the court: Kalyan
The former chief minister said, “I respect the court. If the CBI wants to interrogate me, I accept it. Whenever they set a date for this. I will be present.
The issue is in court and criminal cases are going on against 12-13 people. I will tell the court that there was no conspiracy. ”
‘Ayodhya is the center of faith of crores of Indians’
Kalyan said, “Ayodhya is the centerpiece of the faith of crores of Indians. If we build the Ram temple in Ayodhya, it will fulfill the wishes of crores of Indians. I support the construction of Ram temple. This case is going on in the Supreme Court. We are waiting for the court order. After the decision comes, the central government should move in this direction. My side is very clear on this issue. ”
Other parties should Clarify their stand: Kalyan
He said that all political parties should clarify their stand on the issue whether they are in favor of the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya or not. He suggested that the Muslim side should think in favor of withdrawing their claim in the matter. This will ensure the unity and integrity of the country.
