Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said the security arrangements for Amarnath pilgrims were a problem for the Kashmiris. Mehbooba said. “The land used for the Amarnath Yatra has been used for the last several years. However, unfortunately the arrangements are against local people this time.” The Amarnath Yatra started from July 1 and will continue until August 15.
Mehbooba said that the Governor Satyapal Malik should take cognizance of the problems faced by the devotees. It provide relief to the people. We are not against Amarnath Yatra, but it should not trouble anyone.
Government should talk to Hurriyat leaders: Mehbooba
On Sunday, Mehbooba advised the central government to support the talks with the Hurriyat leaders. She said, “Hurriyat leaders have said that the organization is ready for talks. In such a situation, the government should take advantage of this opportunity and start a conversation. ‘
Arrangements during travel
According to Umang Narula, Chief Executive Officer of the Amarnath Shrine Board, Fire Fighting Team, X-ray Baggage Scanning Units and 27 Rescue Teams have been deployed in some places on the travel route. Helipads have been made in Nilgadh, Panjartani and Pahalgam. There are also barcode points and telecommunication arrangements on the way. Police’s 11 Mountain Rescue team is helping women and sick passengers. 12 Avalanche Rescue teams are also deployed.
Last round of campaign against terror
A few days ago Union Minister Jitendra Singh had said, “The campaign against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir is in the final stages. Terrorism in the state is on the brink of end. It is expected that in the next year 2020, there will be no need for any security arrangement for Amarnath Yatra.
