Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman to be Awarded Vir Chakra

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who strike down Pakistan aircraft F-16 aircraft in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) after an airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan, will be awarded the Vir Chakra.

He will receive this honor on the 73rd Independence Day. The Vir Chakra is the third-highest military honor awarded for indomitable courage in the war.

The first number is Param Vir Chakra and the second is Mahavir Chakra. They will also reward Squadron Leader M. Agarwal the War Service Medal.

Apart from this, they will also award Shaheed Prakash Jadhav posthumously and 8 soldiers with Shaurya Chakra in the campaign against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

5 of them will receive this award posthumously. This time the Central Government has given Outstanding Service Award to 96 policemen. Of these, 15 are from CBI.

They will also award Pilots who took part in the Air Strike

On 26th February, the Air Force also announced the award of Air Force Medals to five Mirage-2000 pilots who were involved in the airstrike. However, they have not announced it officially. Indian pilots had bombed the Spice 2000 bomb made in Israel at the bases of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. They killed around 300 terrorists during this period.

Suicide attack on CRPF convoy

On February 14th in Pulwama, Kashmir, Masood Azhar led terrorists organization Jaish-e-Mohammed took the responsibility of the suicide attack on the CRPF convoy. They killed 40 soldiers in the attack. After this, the Indian Air Force carried out an airstrike at the terrorist bases in Balakot.

Pakistan’s F-16 Aircraft Shot down

After the airstrike, Pakistan sent some F-16 aircraft to attack India’s military bases in Kashmir on the next day, 27th February. Pakistani planes tried to attack by infiltration, but due to the promptness of the Indian Air Force, they destroyed its nefarious plans. India’s MiG-21 and Mirage 2000 fighter jets repelled them.

India rescues pilot reception on 1 March

The MiG-21 pilot Abhinandan shot down the Pak aircraft in a dogfight. During this time Indian aircraft also fell into PoK and Pak troops caught Abhinandan. After this, India diplomatically rescued him on 1 March.
